He has helped thousands of patients transform their health using food, supplements and essential oils as real medicine in his family wellness practice, based in Nashville, Tennessee.
Here are my favorite oils that you should keep on hand, all the time...

1. Lavender essential oil
Lavender oil is all things calming to the body. It's amazing for your mood and for your skin. For mood, it's been shown to relieve anxiety. It's been shown to help you overcome insomnia and improve sleep. My wife and I have a diffuser by our bed and we diffuse it in the air before bed or we just rub it on our necks, but it's great for winding down before sleep and to use on your skin.  Lavender oil is one of my favorites, one that I use pretty much every single day.
2. Lemon oil
Lemon oil is everything clean and fresh. Also, lemon oil is a natural detoxifier. It's been shown to detoxify the gall bladder and the liver and the lymphatic system. So, adding just a few drops of lemon oil to your water is great for naturally fighting any sort of immune-related issue and great for detoxification.

3. Peppermint oil
There are over 1,000 medical studies just on peppermint oil alone! One of the studies is how peppermint oil can be effective on the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease or IBS.
Those with diarrhea, constipation, any sort of bowel issue or leaky gut, peppermint oil is a great essential oil to use. There are so many more uses, but overall this is an incredible essential oil that you can use on a regular basis.
4. Melaleuca
Also known as tea tree oil. This is the number one oil for acne. Just mix some raw honey and melaleuca together to make a natural face wash. Also, it's great for the scalp. You can mix it with shampoo and conditioner. I've made a natural deodorant with melaleuca oil because it's antimicrobial.
5. Oil of oregano
It's a powerful natural immune support. If you come down with a cold, you can simply mix this with coconut oil and rub it on the bottom of the feet and it's very effective that in kicking a cold that way.
6. Frankincense
This is my number one essential oil. It's an essential oil I use every single day and it's the most referenced essential oil in the Bible and throughout history. Frankincense contains a compound called boswellia, which is anti-inflammatory. So, if you have inflammation anywhere, especially in the brain, frankincense is the most powerful thing you could ever use.
I use frankincense oil everyday for anti-aging. I believe it’s the most powerful essential oil in the entire world today, and there are many, many more benefits of frankincense oil.

Two Healthy Snacks One Essential Oil

I made these two easy, kid approved, snacks using Lime Essential Oil for our camping trip.
Fruit leathers:

  • 1lb fruit of your choice (I used strawberries, blueberries and mangos)
  • 1Tbs Stevia
  • 1 drop Lime Essential Oil

Blend fruit, and sugar then add 1 drop of oil and pulse a couple times. Lightly coat your dehydrator fruit sheet with cooking spray to keep the fruit from sticking to the sheet. Once fruit is pureed pour it evenly onto your fruit tray. Spread the fruit evenly with a spatula. Set your dehydrator to 135° and dehydrate for 4-8 hours or until it is leathery and pliable.

Guacamole Salsa:
I used this recipe from Cooking Classy and just substituted the 3tbs lime juice for 1 drop of doTerra Lime Essential Oil.

How to Clean and Disinfect your Camper After a Long Trip.

After returning from a long camping trip yesterday afternoon I decided not to clean out the camper right away. We only unloaded  the food and locked her up. This is never a good idea because everything sits in there, in the heat, marinating in leftover camping juices.
Normally I would regret this mistake immediately, but this morning I had a plan.  I bravely opened the door and as the smell came over us I did not cower in fear. I had the kids make a single file line from the camper to the house. We swiftly unloaded our belongings. I grabbed a bucket, fulled it with warm water and my new secret weapon, essential oils. Protective Blend and lemon to be exact. I added 5 drops of each to my warm water and wiped everything down with it.  After about an hour that camper smelled so good and had a sparkle to it! Usually I would reach for all the disinfecting sprays and deodorizers I had in the house to get a job like this done.
Now the laundry. Oh the pile that awaited me in the laundry room was daunting. And the smell. It was campfire, preteen boys and musty. Again I had a plan. I threw the first load in and added another secret weapon along with the soap into the dispenser. This time that weapon was a cleansing blend. Load after stinky load came out fresh and clean. Yay, never again do I have to fear cleaning out the camper again!

This is exactly what my 11 month old would say if you could talk, and knew someone named Margie!
